  • Member of the renowed Nawbaḫt family.- Proponent of Imāmī Šīʿism.- Created a school that fused Muʿtazilī theology with Imāmī teachings with his uncle, Abū Sahl Ismāʿīl.- He professed some Muʿtazilī tenets but he opposed its doctrine of the Imāmate.- Wote on theology, philosophers, different religions and on the Šīʿī sects
