Biography

Biography

  • Philologist and theologian with iranian ancestry.- He dedicated his life to the linguistic sciences.- Although he had iranian origines, he was against the šuʿūbiyya's principle; he thought Arabic was the language chosen by God and that its grammar was the source of every kind of science.- He was one of the first representatives of the Muʿtazilism.- He wrote a very popular book on Arabic grammar, which had a great influence on the Western grammar of Arabic
