Biography

  • Il est une des plus célèbres figures du Mālikisme en Occident musulman.- Il est d'origine iranienne et son arrière grand-père ʿAmrūn était connu pour sa connaissance parfaite du Coran.- Il ne s'est jamais rendu en Orient, il a étudié en Espagne.- Le 1er safar 531 / 29 octobre 1136, il est nommé qāḍī de Grenade.- Il est destitué de ce poste au bout de quelques mois puis nommé qāḍī de Ceuta fin 539/1145.- Il a alors joué un rôle politique de premier plan.- Mālikite convaincu et militant, il a resisté aux Almohades à Ceuta.- Lorsqu'ils ont triomphés, il a été exilé parmi les tribus nomades au Tadla puis placé en résidence forcée à Marrakech où il meurt

  • He is one of the most famous figures of the Mālikism in the Muslim West.- He is of Iranian origin and his great grandfather 'Amrūn was known for his thorough knowledge of Quran.- He had never been in the East and studied in Spain.- On the 1st of Safar 531 / 29th of October 1136, he was appointed as the qāḍī of Grenada.- He was removed from this position after a few months and appointed as the qāḍī of Ceuta by the end of 539/1145.- He then played an important political role.- Convinced Māliki and activist, he resisted to the Almohades in Ceuta.- When they triumphed he was exiled among the nomadic tribes of Tadla and then placed in assigned residence in Marrakech, where he died
