Biography	Un des plus grands historiens du moyen âge hispanique.- Sa vie est peu connue.- Son père était secrétaire du vizir al-Mansūr, aurait eu une grande influence sur l'éducation et l'idéologie pro-umayyade de son fils.- Rédacteur à la Chancellerie d'État.- Il est très critique à l'égard des personnalités de son temps.- Il est l'auteur d'une grande histoire d'al-Andalus, qui est plutôt une compilation d'ouvrages antérieurs.- Son oeuvre majeure est une histoire de son époque en 60 volumes d'une très grande minutie
